Ways to say Thank You

I. Theory (21.30-22.00):

In this lesson we will look at two actions which many of us do, although maybe not as often as we should.
Today we will talk about saying “thank you”. The action of saying “thank you” is seen as the most polite way of showing how grateful you are for receiving something or as a way of acknowledging an act of kindness. We say “thank you” to show our appreciation.
By saying “thank you”, you show your gratitude. You express your appreciation. You acknowledge the kindness.
You return the generosity verbally. You offer your sincerest thanks. You are grateful.
There are many ways to say “thank you”:
“Thank you.” “Thank you very much.” “Thanks a lot.” “Thank you so much.” “Thanks a bundle.” “You are too kind.” “Thanks ever such a lot.” “Cheers!”“Ta very much!”Sometimes we may express surprise and joy, as well as showing our thanks: “Wow! How kind… Thank you!” “That’s good of you… cheers!” “I don’t know what to say… thanks a lot!” “I’m overwhelmed… thank you so much!” “What can I say? You are the best!Thank you very much!” “This present is so nice! Oh you shouldn’t have!”Oh dear, I appear to be in the wrong lesson… mmm, how embarrassing…I suppose I had better go.
Saying thank you is the best way to show your gratitude to another person. It’s a polite thing to do.
To acknowledge someone’s kindnessis a nice thing to do.
And don’t forget kindness creates more kindness ;-)

Ways to say Hello
I. Theory (21.30-22.00):
In today’s lesson, we’re going to talk all about saying hello
When we first meet someone whether it is a person we know or someone we are meeting for the first time
We will normally use a simple sentence as a way of greeting them.
A greeting is a friendly way of opening a conversation, or as a way of letting the other person know that we have seen them.
There are many ways to say hello:
Hi ,Hello, Hi, there, Hello there. Hey, how are you doing? Howdy friend (USA). What’s up?How’s it going?Wow, it’s good to see you! We sometime use a double greeting For example Hi there, hey how are you doing? Hello, how have you been? It’s good to see you, how’s life beentreating you? If you are meeting someone for the first time you can say Good to meet you It’s nice to meet you I’m pleased to meet you It’s a pleasure to meet you

These sentences are often used after the other person has been introduced to you
If you are meeting someone you have not seen or heard from for a long time, then you can show real surprise and shock

Oh my God, it’s you!. Aahh, where have you been? My goodness, long time no speak (see) Wow, it’s so good to see you again. Is it really you? When did we last meet? Wow, as I live and breathe, it’s my best friend from school
If you are in a hurry there may only be a short time in which to make your greeting.

Hi, sorry I can’t stop Oh hi there, look I’m a bit pushed for time, here’s my phone number, give me call sometime.Hello there, look I’m on my way to work maybe catch up with you again soon .Hey’ I would love to stop and chat but I really have to dash
This type of greeting is common these days Because we are all in such a big hurry to get some place fast

We sometime use the word ‘hello’ as a way of showing surprise or as a way of expressing a sudden
interest in something.
Hello, what’s going on here? Hello, I did not know he had a girlfriend Hello, what’s going on over theHello, something is wrong her took my money!

About me :->

Well, from the very start I should say that it is not an easy thing to speak about myself as it is hard to have a look at yourself from aside, but at the same time who knows you better than you yourself do? ^.^
Beside my Vietnamese name Hoa (Flower), I have an Italian name Fiorella.  I'm a girl of 21, an acquarius. As to my appearance, I'm not tall, rather chubby. My friends say that I have a cute and smiling face. But, sometimes I can easily lose my tempo and become either angry or sad. Also, I see myself as an active and friendly person. I have got a sense of humour as well. It means that I understand humour and like laughing, telling jokes with friends. Admittedly, I'm stubborn at times. But in my view, being persistent is not always a bad thing. It means my aim, I dislike leaving things half done. In addition, I'm very fond of learning foreign languages. I'm studying English and Italian at the same time. This sometimes confuse me a lot, but I gradually got familiar with it.

I'm a senior and going to graduate next summer 2014. I did think that like many other fourth year students, I asked a lot of times what I wanted to be and to do when leaving campus. Absolutely, it was difficult to give a definite answer.  As the time passed, I changed my mind a couple of times. Now I realize that my strongest desire is to continue specializing in foreign languages. I will be an interpreter, a translator, a tour guige or whatever job related to foreign languages I know. I hope my dreams come true. If I fail, I'll try again and find better ways to accomplish my will.

And now a few words about this blog, this is my first blog. The ideal of creating a blog specializing in Amrican english came up to my mind by chance when a friend asked me how she could learn american english herself. Then, I quickly made up my mind to create a free blog about learning english and American english in particular.

My English club ^o^
I have chance to work with many American teachers at my English center. Besides, being  president of  a 40-50 member English club is a small pride to me. I am not confident enough to say that I speak english like an American or an expert at English, but with what I gained from learning english, working with native people and teaching english I think can share with you a lot of effective ways to learn English, especially American english more easily .

Finally, I hope that this blog useful for you and it can inspire you to learn English!

What is American English?

American English [.. 'me ri k.n 'iN gliS] = /əˈmerɪkən ˈɪŋglɪʃ/

American English is a kind of the English language which is used in the United States of America. It is one of the two most popular kinds of English in the world (the other one is British English).
The biggest difference between American English and British English is in pronunciation. Differences in vocabulary and grammar are quite small. People who speak American and British English can easily understand each other.
American English consists of many regional kinds of English. For example, people in New England, New York City, and the South of the USA speak English in different ways.
When people talk about teaching or learning American English, they usually think of the General American standard of English. General American is the kind of English used by educated Americans, on television and in the press, and described in dictionaries of American English, such as Merriam-Webster and Random House dictionaries.
When an English dictionary gives an American word or an American pronunciation of a word, it usually uses AmEAm, or US, instead of “American English”.
